THE PREVAILING INTERCESSION OF JESUS CHRIST FOR SINNERS

When Jesus Christ was physically in this world, he made the remarkable aspect of His ministry to showcase His love, compassion, and desire for the salvation of mankind. In the book of Hebrews 7:25, it is written, "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them." The prevailing nature of Jesus' intercession for sinners must not be interpreted for weakness because the LORD GOD has reserved a day in which He shall judge the entire world in righteousness(Acts 17:31). His compassionate nature must be viewed as a privilege to make amends and jettison all wrong doings.

The concept of intercession is deeply rooted in the Old Testament, where Moses as the servant of God interceded on behalf of the people before God. However, with the coming of Jesus Christ, His intercession has a unique and powerful significance since he is our great High Priest(Hebrews 4:14). In the book of Romans 8:34, it states, "Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us." While this verse emphasizes the position of authority and power that Christ holds, it is therefore pertinent that we wise appropriate the provisions made available. Anything short of this, will make us not to be saved even after the harvest is over(Jeremiah 8:20) and it will not mean well for us, if it be thus.

The prevailing intercession of Jesus Christ for sinners is for a limited time as after the curtain of grace has been drawn to a close, there will be no more room for repentance. As realistic as this may seem, there is no circumstance that a sinner finds him/herself which will be difficult for Jesus Christ to save. If repentance is seen in the life of the sinner, he is transformed by the power God into becoming a saint. In the book of 1 John 2:1, it is written, "My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous." His intercession is not bound by the past, but extends to the present up until the rapture takes place, providing hope and assurance for all who seek Him.

Furthermore, the prevailing intercession of Jesus Christ for sinners is based on His nature of perfect righteousness. In the book of Hebrews 9:24, it states, "For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us." Let this be known that Jesus Christ is the only perfect High Priest who enters into the presence of God on behalf of sinners, offering His own blood as atonement for their sins.

The prevailing intercession of Jesus Christ for sinners is a testament to His unchanging love and concern for humanity. In the book of Isaiah 53:12, it is written, "Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors." This verse reveals the selfless and sacrificial nature of Jesus' intercession, as He bears the sins of the people and makes intercession on their behalf.

In conclusion, the prevailing intercession of Jesus Christ for sinners reveals His love, grace, and mercy. His intercession offers hope and redemption to all who come to Him. As believers, we can take comfort in knowing that Jesus is continually interceding for us, advocating on our behalf before the Father. It is through His prevailing intercession that we find forgiveness, restoration, and eternal life. If you are not yet a believer, please make good use of the opportunity before you to repent and accept Jesus Christ as your LORD and Saviour. As you do, may the mercy and grace of our LORD and Master Jesus Christ cleanse and make you clean through the blood which was shed on the cross of Calvary.

DO NOT DEPAIR

Having found out whom God is... DO NOT DESPAIR TEXT: PSALM 13:1-6 Key verse: “How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?” (Psalm 13:1) . Life throws up new challenges every day. This often makes the believer begin to think that God had abandoned him. Except he rouses himself up, he would become discouraged and lose all hope that help would ever come to him. David got to that point many times in his numerous battles in life. He probably prayed and fasted for long periods, but the onslaught of the enemy did not end. He was running out of options, hence he spoke in desperation to God. He seemed to conclude that He had forsaken him and wondered how long God would hide himself, and how long he was going to be abandoned to himself, getting ever more sorrowful daily. He was troubled that the enemy seemed to be triumphing over him; ...

NO SHORTCUT

If it is to be done aright, be rest assured that there is... NO SHORTCUT BELIEVERS' DIGEST PUBLICATION Bible Reading: 1 KINGS 15:16-24 Key Verse: “There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me” (1 Kings 15:19). Men always seek shortcut to success in life. Rather than live by God’s righteous standard, they seek to achieve success by any means possible. They justify their action by arguing that the end does indeed justify the means. This is despite their moral failings and character flaws, all of which contravene God’s expectations from His children. Such was the beginning of the end for King Asa, who had begun well to rule Judah and had introduced gr...

A GEM OF SPECTACULAR INFLUENCE

WINNERS' INTEREST PUBLICATION A GEM OF SPECTACULAR INFLUENCE Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 3:19-21 (KJV) Key Verse: “And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground” (1 Samuel 3:19). The world, in which we live today is filled with corrupting influences. This forms the basis of God's call to His people to rise as rare treasures of purity and power. A “Gem of Spectacular Influence” is not an ordinary person. It describes a believer whose life carries unique, enduring value that transcends fleeting worldly trends. Like a precious gem that retains its brilliance even in darkness, such a life reflects resolute determination to pursue excellence in glorifying God, undimmed by surrounding negativity. The story of Samuel powerfully illustrates this truth. Raised in the tabernacle at Shiloh under the aged priest Eli, Samuel was surrounded by evil practices. Eli’s sons, Hophni and Phinehas, were notorious for ...
