GOD'S CHASTISEMENT

Bible Text: Hebrews 12:5-12
Memory Verse

"For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth"

(Hebrews 12:6)

Adults do remember how their parents chastised them when they were growing up in order to prevent them from going the wrong way in life. Often, this chastisement would not be appreciated by growing minds. Parents who chastise their children do not hate them, but they do so to help them remain focused on life's essentials.

This is exactly the way God relates with you as His exceptional jewel—especially if you are a business mogul or a rising star carrying significant influence and responsibility. The marketplace is filled with high-stakes decisions, sudden market shifts, failed launches, betrayed partnerships, and seasons of seeming stagnation. These are not always signs of divine abandonment; many times they are God's loving chastisement designed to forge unbreakable character, sharper discernment, and sustainable success.

What God would have prevented in His power, He allowed in His wisdom. The same Lord who opens doors also permits temporary closures to redirect you toward greater territories. For the business leader who has tasted rapid growth, a season of financial pressure may be the classroom where pride is refined into humility and dependence on God. For the rising star whose influence is expanding, a public setback or delayed breakthrough may be heaven's way of protecting you from the destructive weight of untested fame. Every loss, every "no," every sleepless night wrestling with strategy is an investment in the stamina required for the next level He has prepared.

Remember, God's plan for you is always good and not evil (Jeremiah 29:11). The current challenge is not meant to break you but to build capacity for greater responsibility, wider impact, and generational wealth that glorifies Him. However, wisdom demands self-examination. Not every difficulty is divine chastening—some result from poor choices, ethical compromises, or neglecting the Holy Spirit's guidance. In such cases, genuine repentance and course correction unlock fresh mercy and acceleration.

Business moguls and rising stars, endure the chastening of the Lord. Embrace it as elite training. The same God who disciplines you is the One positioning you to lead with integrity, innovate with wisdom, and finish stronger than you started. Your future victories will not only transform balance sheets but also touch lives and glorify the name of the Lord.

DO NOT DEPAIR

Having found out whom God is... DO NOT DESPAIR TEXT: PSALM 13:1-6 Key verse: “How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?” (Psalm 13:1) . Life throws up new challenges every day. This often makes the believer begin to think that God had abandoned him. Except he rouses himself up, he would become discouraged and lose all hope that help would ever come to him. David got to that point many times in his numerous battles in life. He probably prayed and fasted for long periods, but the onslaught of the enemy did not end. He was running out of options, hence he spoke in desperation to God. He seemed to conclude that He had forsaken him and wondered how long God would hide himself, and how long he was going to be abandoned to himself, getting ever more sorrowful daily. He was troubled that the enemy seemed to be triumphing over him; ...

NO SHORTCUT

If it is to be done aright, be rest assured that there is... NO SHORTCUT BELIEVERS' DIGEST PUBLICATION Bible Reading: 1 KINGS 15:16-24 Key Verse: “There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me” (1 Kings 15:19). Men always seek shortcut to success in life. Rather than live by God’s righteous standard, they seek to achieve success by any means possible. They justify their action by arguing that the end does indeed justify the means. This is despite their moral failings and character flaws, all of which contravene God’s expectations from His children. Such was the beginning of the end for King Asa, who had begun well to rule Judah and had introduced gr...

A GEM OF SPECTACULAR INFLUENCE

WINNERS' INTEREST PUBLICATION A GEM OF SPECTACULAR INFLUENCE Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 3:19-21 (KJV) Key Verse: “And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground” (1 Samuel 3:19). The world, in which we live today is filled with corrupting influences. This forms the basis of God's call to His people to rise as rare treasures of purity and power. A “Gem of Spectacular Influence” is not an ordinary person. It describes a believer whose life carries unique, enduring value that transcends fleeting worldly trends. Like a precious gem that retains its brilliance even in darkness, such a life reflects resolute determination to pursue excellence in glorifying God, undimmed by surrounding negativity. The story of Samuel powerfully illustrates this truth. Raised in the tabernacle at Shiloh under the aged priest Eli, Samuel was surrounded by evil practices. Eli’s sons, Hophni and Phinehas, were notorious for ...
