The True Bread

✦ ✦ ✦
Key Verse "Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven." (John 6:32, KJV)

In the wilderness, the children of Israel received manna as daily bread that sustained their bodies but could not prevent physical death. It was a temporary provision, a shadow pointing to something far greater. But Jesus Christ, in His mercy, draws attention beyond the temporal. He declares that the true Bread came not through Moses, but directly from the loving hand of God-the-Father. That Bread is Christ Himself.

Beloved, how often do we chase after earthly bread? We seldom labour for food that perishes, seeking satisfaction in careers, relationships, possessions, or earthly pleasures. Yet like the manna that became worthless when hoarded, these things leave us empty again. Jesus offers what our souls truly crave: Himself. He is the living Bread that came down from heaven. Whosoever eats of this Bread shall live forever.

To partake of the True Bread is to believe in Jesus, to feed daily on His Word, to commune with Him in prayer, and to trust in His finished work on the cross. Just as bread is broken and shared, Christ was broken for us. His body given, His blood shed, so that we might have eternal life. This Bread satisfies the deepest hunger of the human heart—the hunger for God.

When seasons of dryness or trial reveal themselves, remember: the True Bread never fails. He is always fresh, always sufficient, always near. When the children of Israel gathered manna each morning, they learned dependence. So must we. Rise early, open your Bible, and feast on Christ. Let His promises strengthen your spirit, His presence fill your soul, and His love sustain you through every storm.

Challenge

The Father still serves this True Bread today. Come to Jesus. Eat and be satisfied. When you hunger for more of Him, He satisfy with the abundance of his everlasting treasures.

Prayer Lord, evermore give me this bread that satisfies through life and eternity, in Jesus Name, Amen.

DO NOT DEPAIR

Having found out whom God is... DO NOT DESPAIR TEXT: PSALM 13:1-6 Key verse: “How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?” (Psalm 13:1) . Life throws up new challenges every day. This often makes the believer begin to think that God had abandoned him. Except he rouses himself up, he would become discouraged and lose all hope that help would ever come to him. David got to that point many times in his numerous battles in life. He probably prayed and fasted for long periods, but the onslaught of the enemy did not end. He was running out of options, hence he spoke in desperation to God. He seemed to conclude that He had forsaken him and wondered how long God would hide himself, and how long he was going to be abandoned to himself, getting ever more sorrowful daily. He was troubled that the enemy seemed to be triumphing over him; ...

NO SHORTCUT

If it is to be done aright, be rest assured that there is... NO SHORTCUT BELIEVERS' DIGEST PUBLICATION Bible Reading: 1 KINGS 15:16-24 Key Verse: “There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me” (1 Kings 15:19). Men always seek shortcut to success in life. Rather than live by God’s righteous standard, they seek to achieve success by any means possible. They justify their action by arguing that the end does indeed justify the means. This is despite their moral failings and character flaws, all of which contravene God’s expectations from His children. Such was the beginning of the end for King Asa, who had begun well to rule Judah and had introduced gr...

A GEM OF SPECTACULAR INFLUENCE

WINNERS' INTEREST PUBLICATION A GEM OF SPECTACULAR INFLUENCE Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 3:19-21 (KJV) Key Verse: “And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground” (1 Samuel 3:19). The world, in which we live today is filled with corrupting influences. This forms the basis of God's call to His people to rise as rare treasures of purity and power. A “Gem of Spectacular Influence” is not an ordinary person. It describes a believer whose life carries unique, enduring value that transcends fleeting worldly trends. Like a precious gem that retains its brilliance even in darkness, such a life reflects resolute determination to pursue excellence in glorifying God, undimmed by surrounding negativity. The story of Samuel powerfully illustrates this truth. Raised in the tabernacle at Shiloh under the aged priest Eli, Samuel was surrounded by evil practices. Eli’s sons, Hophni and Phinehas, were notorious for ...
