CHAMPIONING PRODUCTIVITY WITH FOCUS ON THE HEAVENLY GOAL

In today's fast-paced world, where the demands of work and life can seldom feel overwhelming, it can be very easy to lose sight of what truly matters. Productivity is often measured by the volume of tasks completed, the milestones achieved, and the goals actualised within a specific allotted time. However, despite the importance of being efficient and effective in our daily endeavours, it is crucial to remember the ultimate purpose behind our pursuit of productivity as Christians– the heavenly goal.

The King James Version of the Holy Bible provides enormous wisdom which have proven to be valuable over time in our quest for productivity while keeping up with the heavenly goal. By incorporating the principles and teachings drawn from the scriptures into our daily routines, we can enhance our productivity within the divinely specified perspective.

One essential principle emphasized in the Holy Bible is the importance of focusing on the heavenly goal rather than the pursuit of ephemeral things. Just as the book of Colossians 3:2 rightly advises, "Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.", we should prioritise eternal values over temporary ones. While earthly achievements may bring temporary gratification, they are not sufficient to satisfy the eternal journey, when compared to the everlasting fulfilment that prioritizing the heavenly goal could ever procure.

To champion productivity in light of the heavenly goal, we must embed a mindset of excellence in the discharge of our every task and endeavour. The book of Ecclesiastes  9:10 "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest." This teaches us to approach our work with diligence and wholehearted professionalism. Whether it is our occupation, relationships, or personal goals, working with excellence allows us to honour God and maximize our productivity.

Furthermore, the Holy Bible encourages us to seek divine wisdom from God which serves as guidance to the achievement of the commensurate productivity desired at our various social and economic sphere. The book of Proverbs offers numerous verses on the value of God-given wisdom, such as Proverbs 2:6, which states, "For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding." By seeking wisdom through prayer and studying the scriptures, we can gain insights that sharpen our focus and enhance our productivity.

In our pursuit of productivity, it is very essential to accommodate rest which promotes rejuvenation. The book of Psalms reminds us of the importance of rest while stating in Psalms 127:2, "It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep." Recognizing the need for rest allows us to avoid burnout and promotes long-term productivity. By prioritizing self-care, we can maintain the energy and motivation necessary to accomplish our goals.

Moreover, the Bible encourages us to align our priorities with God's Will. The book of Matthew 6:33 tells us, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you." By placing God at the forefront of our lives, our productivity comes pouring in. This is so because it is an act of devotion to the God that ruleth and reigneth in the affairs of men. By seeking God's guidance and aligning our actions with His will, we ensure that our pursuit of productivity is in harmony with His divine purpose.

In conclusion, championing productivity with a focus on the heavenly goal, provides us with a profound perspective on our daily pursuits. By incorporating principles exemplified in the Holy Bible, we can enhance our productivity and achieve a sense of fulfillment. Focusing on the heavenly goal allows us to prioritize eternal values, work with excellence, seek divine wisdom from God, embrace rest, and align our priorities in cognizance with God's Will. Let us remember that true productivity lies not only in the tasks we accomplish but also in the impact we make on the lives of others as we strive to follow the lead of our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ while applying the intuitive morals of His legacy.

DO NOT DEPAIR

Having found out whom God is... DO NOT DESPAIR TEXT: PSALM 13:1-6 Key verse: “How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?” (Psalm 13:1) . Life throws up new challenges every day. This often makes the believer begin to think that God had abandoned him. Except he rouses himself up, he would become discouraged and lose all hope that help would ever come to him. David got to that point many times in his numerous battles in life. He probably prayed and fasted for long periods, but the onslaught of the enemy did not end. He was running out of options, hence he spoke in desperation to God. He seemed to conclude that He had forsaken him and wondered how long God would hide himself, and how long he was going to be abandoned to himself, getting ever more sorrowful daily. He was troubled that the enemy seemed to be triumphing over him; ...

NO SHORTCUT

If it is to be done aright, be rest assured that there is... NO SHORTCUT BELIEVERS' DIGEST PUBLICATION Bible Reading: 1 KINGS 15:16-24 Key Verse: “There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me” (1 Kings 15:19). Men always seek shortcut to success in life. Rather than live by God’s righteous standard, they seek to achieve success by any means possible. They justify their action by arguing that the end does indeed justify the means. This is despite their moral failings and character flaws, all of which contravene God’s expectations from His children. Such was the beginning of the end for King Asa, who had begun well to rule Judah and had introduced gr...

The world, in which we live today is filled with corrupting influences. This forms the basis of God's call to His people to rise as rare treasures of purity and power. A “Gem of Spectacular Influence” is not an ordinary person. It describes a believer whose life carries unique, enduring value that transcends fleeting worldly trends. Like a precious gem that retains its brilliance even in darkness, such a life reflects resolute determination to pursue excellence in glorifying God, undimmed by surrounding negativity. The story of Samuel powerfully illustrates this truth. Raised in the tabernacle at Shiloh under the aged priest Eli, Samuel was surrounded by evil practices. Eli’s sons, Hophni and Phinehas, were notorious for ...
