HEARTY APPROBATION FOR GODLY OVERCOMERS

"Welcome thou faithful and righteous servant". These words, taken from the King James Version of the Holy Bible, will serve as commendation to those that overcome the trials and tribulations of this world and have remained steadfast in their faith while on Earth. The folks referred to here are those who remain grounded in their faith and exhibit the fruit of the Spirit.

As we obviously navigate this tempestuous life, it is easy to loose focus, become discouraged and forget that Jesus Christ is our only connection to God. However it plays out, those who remain faithful to God, even in the face of adversity are living proof to the testament of His Power and non-discriminatory Love. It is this power of God that guarantees reassuring hope to His children entrusting their unwavering faith in Christ the mighty captain.

The Holy Bible is full of stories of overcomers who persevered through seemingly insurmountable obstacles and emerged victorious. Abraham, who left his home and family to honour God's invitation to the Heavenly mission, Joseph, who was sold into slavery by his own brothers but rose to become a powerful leader, and David, whom despite faced with many challenges while ascenting the throne, are just a few examples of those who overcame adversity with God's help.

But it is not just those in the Bible days that overcame in the name of God. Throughout history and even today, there are countless individuals who overcame discrimination, persecution, illnesses and other hardships through their faith in God. These individuals are true inspiration to us all, and their stories serve as a reminder that with God all things are possible.

As we reflect on the lives of these overcomers, we should take note of the qualities that led them through the pathway of victory. These are qualities that we should also strive to exemplify and inculcate in life.  Faith, Patience, Perseverance, Love, and Humility are all characteristics that are essential in overcoming the challenges of this world. And as we cultivate these qualities, we can trust that God will continue to guide and strengthen us on our journey to His glorious Kingdom.

In the light of this, it is proper to encourage one another with hearty approbation especially to those who remain faithful and righteous servants of God. These individuals are truly a blessing to the Kingdom of God and the lives of those around. Their lives serve as a beacon of hope to all who are expecting to see Jesus Christ some day. As the Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 4:7, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" (KJV). These words capture the true essence of being an overcomer. It is only to those who successfully fight the good fight, finish their course, and keep the faith that God and His Host will welcome home at last.

In conclusion, let us continue to strive to be overcomers in the name of Christ our LORD. Let us remain steadfast in our faith while we cultivate the attitude that bears the fruit of the Spirit, and press-on with righteousness in the face of adversity. And let us never forget to offer our hearty approbation to brethren around us who have made it their point of duty to stand for the things which Christ taught even if it entails being smitten for it. Remember, He will say to us if we faint not at the beginning of our journey at eternity "Welcome thou faithful and righteous servant". O! What joy it will be.

DO NOT DEPAIR

Having found out whom God is... DO NOT DESPAIR TEXT: PSALM 13:1-6 Key verse: “How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?” (Psalm 13:1) . Life throws up new challenges every day. This often makes the believer begin to think that God had abandoned him. Except he rouses himself up, he would become discouraged and lose all hope that help would ever come to him. David got to that point many times in his numerous battles in life. He probably prayed and fasted for long periods, but the onslaught of the enemy did not end. He was running out of options, hence he spoke in desperation to God. He seemed to conclude that He had forsaken him and wondered how long God would hide himself, and how long he was going to be abandoned to himself, getting ever more sorrowful daily. He was troubled that the enemy seemed to be triumphing over him; ...

NO SHORTCUT

If it is to be done aright, be rest assured that there is... NO SHORTCUT BELIEVERS' DIGEST PUBLICATION Bible Reading: 1 KINGS 15:16-24 Key Verse: “There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me” (1 Kings 15:19). Men always seek shortcut to success in life. Rather than live by God’s righteous standard, they seek to achieve success by any means possible. They justify their action by arguing that the end does indeed justify the means. This is despite their moral failings and character flaws, all of which contravene God’s expectations from His children. Such was the beginning of the end for King Asa, who had begun well to rule Judah and had introduced gr...

A GEM OF SPECTACULAR INFLUENCE

WINNERS' INTEREST PUBLICATION A GEM OF SPECTACULAR INFLUENCE Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 3:19-21 (KJV) Key Verse: “And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground” (1 Samuel 3:19). The world, in which we live today is filled with corrupting influences. This forms the basis of God's call to His people to rise as rare treasures of purity and power. A “Gem of Spectacular Influence” is not an ordinary person. It describes a believer whose life carries unique, enduring value that transcends fleeting worldly trends. Like a precious gem that retains its brilliance even in darkness, such a life reflects resolute determination to pursue excellence in glorifying God, undimmed by surrounding negativity. The story of Samuel powerfully illustrates this truth. Raised in the tabernacle at Shiloh under the aged priest Eli, Samuel was surrounded by evil practices. Eli’s sons, Hophni and Phinehas, were notorious for ...
